It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Yehuda Leib (Leibel) Groner z”l. He was 88.
Born in 1931, Reb Leibel was well-known for his role as the secretary, or “mazkir,” of the Lubavitcher Rebbe for over 40 years.
Reb Leibel was a respected talmid chochom and yodeia sefer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yehudis (née Gurewitz) Groner, and his children and grandchildren. His son Reb Yossi is the rov of Congregation Ohr HaTorah in Charlotte, North Carolina. His son Reb Menachem Mendel is a rosh yeshiva at the Chabad Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat, Israel alongside the city’s chief rabbi, Rav Moshe Havlin. His brother was Reb Yitzchok Dovid Groner, who was the senior Chabad rabbi in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and the director of the Yeshivah Center there.
