
Two soldiers of the Yahalom Special Forces Unit were seriously wounded today while battling in the southern Gaza Strip. They were wounded when terrorists fired mortars at IDF forces near the Rafah Crossing. An additional six soldiers were moderately wounded in the attack.
Along with the soldiers, a contracting company employee working on behalf of Israel’s Defense Ministry was seriously wounded, along with two other employees who were moderately wounded.
Meanwhile, last night a Givati Brigade soldier was seriously wounded while battling terrorists in northern Gaza. Over Shabbos, two Golani soldiers were seriously wounded by friendly fire.
IDF forces are fighting in eastern Rafah, attacking Hamas targets in the area. The soldiers eliminated terrorists in face-to-face combat and located weapons and rocket launchers. The soldiers destroyed terrorist infrastructure and confiscated weapons they had found in a school.
IDF forces are also operating in the Jabalia area. Several terrorists there were eliminated after close-range battles. Along with the Israeli Air Force, many underground infrastructures and fighting spaces were destroyed. In one of the attack, a building where a squad of Hamas terrorists had gathered was destroyed. The IDF is also operating in the Zeytun area. There they have also found weapons and various terrorist infrastructures.
