  1. When a tragedy of this magnitude hits klal yisroel there’s always three things that must be addressed. The first to be ‘mishtatef ‘in the pain of another yid – one cannot imagine what this family is going through. And second to strengthen our ‘emunah’ in H-shem and realize that after all is said, it only happened because that was the rotzoin of Hashem and that everything Hashem does is for the good. And thirdly one has to be very careful not to speak negative or badly about Hashem that how could he to this or even to say every day another tragedy or what’s next, as if to imply that all is bad and all is wrong c”v.

WHEN A PERSON IS A TRUE PERSON OF FAITH & TRUST IN HASHEM. HE GETS TO BE THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD. This is a nisayon for the parents in bitachon & emunah in hashem (just like aharon hakohen when his children died he was quiet & had faith in Hashem…). If its not possible for a person to pass a test from Hashem he is not given the test. Its a time like this that one has to remind oneself of all the ‘hatovah’ and all the chesed that H-shem does for all of us ALL the time.

Every person has a job to fulfill in this world. now the child has done his job & is ready to go to the olam ha’emes (true world)& you two special people (parents) were the chosen agents of Hashem to take care of this child. May hashem reward you for this.& may his neshama have an aliyah & your lives be filled with only Simcha.

  2. Re people not getting a nisayon they can’t pass: the question is, is a situation a nisayon or not. Sometimes, a situation is just a very difficult matzav Hashem puts in and we don’t know till it’s over if it was a nisayon (that we would have the kochos for) or a difficult matzav.

Let me just say that if you are ever in a position to be menachem avel again, to reread this and possibly edit yourself. Unless, r”l you yourself have been through this and found all this helpful for you. In which case you MUST frame it that way.

  3. “How terribly sad that innocent children are dying in the Holy Land.”

How terribly sad that innocent children are dying anywhere on the face of the planet.

[Perhaps that was a little too radical and revolutionary a concept for the likes of those who cannot (or will not think) beyond the ends of their noses?]

  4. #5 You are part right, but very wrong. Dont you care about your own kids more? Is that not the case with anyone with a group identity? And how dare you insinuate someone does not care about other children outside the Holy Land. If all land to you is the same, that is your right to be wrong. If someone felt there should be something more protective in this case about the Holy Land, they have a right to share that without you making a false and critical judgement.

  5. Whether or not someone put words in your mouth is not the problem. Words do not disguise your tone, which is a problem for me. If you have nothing nice to say on these matters, dont take cheap shots to prove some point which is wrong. Stand by your words. Someone has to. It may as well be you.
