[Photo below.] Over 50,000 people took part in the Birchas Hachama at the Kosel in Yerushalayim this morning. Following the event, all roads surrounding Yerushalayim’s Old City were blocked. Police requested that those attending leave the Old City using public transportation.
In hundreds of places around the world, Yidden rose early in the morning for
Birchas Hachama.
In New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, Rabbi Chaim Dovrat said it was a “re-staging of the heavens as they were at the beginning of time.” Rabbi Dovrat led the rare bracha at the city’s Webb Street Shul about an hour after sunrise.
”]New Zealand’s 7,500 Jews were the first in the world to make the bracha , he said.
