The music was, well, heimish sounding.

At an event marking the 101st anniversary of the first wreath-laying by Jewish veterans at the central London memorial, the band played “Moshiach,” the famed Mordechai Ben David song composed by MBD and Mona Rosenblum.

At the event on Sunday, Jewish men and women who fought and gave their lives for Britian were honored during the annual Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women (Ajex) parade.

Over 1,400 people participated in the march from Horse Guards Parade down Whitehall to the Cenotaph, with veterans and families of fallen veterans walking together.

The Service at the Cenotaph was conducted by the Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and others.

“It is in fact the massed bands of @JLGBHQ – the longest running Jewish youth organisation in the UK (out of shot, behind the military band). They take a leading role every year in the national @AJEX_UK parade at the cenotaph.”
