According to figures released by the Council for Higher Education, there were 12,300 chareidi students in Israel last year, comprising 4% of the student body in Israel. This was a 60% increase over 2013. 9% of those earning bachelor’s degrees are studying computer science and software engineering.

70% of chareidi students are females. In the general population, the proportion of men to women is reversed.

A quarter of chareidim who began learning for bachelor’s degree in 2015 dropped out, in contrast to only 8% of the general population.

  1. 70% of chareidi students are females. In the general population, the proportion of men to women is reversed (i.e. Only 30% of the students in institutions of higher learning, in the general population, are females). So much for the myth that there is gender equality in the non-chareidi world, and gender-bias in the chareidi world. So much for the myth that the chareidi culture frowns on women going to college or acquiring training in any field other than teaching or motherhood. So much for the myth that chareidi men don’t seek “higher degrees” and that they all just live off of public programs.

  2. The western culture is turning men into women. Even the israeli army is being flooded with female recruits. I told some people the other day that if hillarey would of gotten elected, we men would have to wear skirts. It’s a crazy world. We need Trump to change the laws and allow him to be president for three terms or more just like Bloomberg did as mayor of ny.
