President Barack Obama is now making a statement about the situation in Egypt following President Hosni Mubarak’s announcement he will not seek re-election.
Obama and his foreign policy team watched Mubarak’s televised speech, which came amid unprecedented anti-government protests in Cairo, from the White House Situation Room.
Obama began speaking at about 6:40 p.m. EST.
