doctorsThough the Affordable Care Act aimed to get health insurance for more poor Americans by requiring states to expand Medicaid, 26 states refused to do so and created a coverage gap instead. As a result, up to 7 million Americans are now ineligible for Medicaid. All 26 of the states that opted to create a coverage gap had Republican-controlled legislatures or Republican governors. Coincidence?
