According to the police, eight Arabs from eastern Jerusalem have been arrested after recording themselves engaging in abusive behavior towards a mentally ill young Jewish man.
The distressing incident was livestreamed, capturing the perpetrators laughing at the victim while he was on the ground. They also made derogatory remarks such as “free Palestine.”
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim was receiving medical treatment at Hadassah Medical Center, while the suspects were visiting a friend who had allegedly been injured during recent riots in eastern Jerusalem.
In response to the incident, the police emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of all individuals and vowed to take decisive action against crimes perpetrated on social media platforms. They stated, “Israel Police will continue to act resolutely to preserve the safety of every person, including by monitoring crimes on social networks related to this, locating and arresting suspects, and investigating them accordingly.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir expressed appreciation for the swift actions taken by the Israel Police in apprehending the eight suspects involved in the abuse. He expressed hope that they would receive the severe punishment they deserve. Ben-Gvir further commented on the shocking documentation of the incident, which was revealed by journalist Yair Levy, highlighting the disturbing nature of witnessing an antisemitic act where mentally ill Jewish youth were targeted by Arab youths. He likened it to dark chapters in the history of the Jewish people.
Potential future terrorists. In my opinion they should make is rule that anybody showing signs of potential terrorism should be kicked out of the country for good.
They are lurid animals. How comes nobody was there with the Charedi man, preventing all of this from happening in the first place? Do I understand it correctly that it happened in a medical facility no less?
