British information technology worker James Howells got involved in the Bitcoin craze in February 2009. He amassed 7,500 Bitcoins worth $975,000 before accidentally throwing a hard drive containing its private keys into the trash, the Independent reported.
With the Bitcoin’s recent climb in value, Howell’s stash is now worth $80 million. He is seriously considering digging up the landfill in which it’s buried.
This would be “a big, expensive and risky project,” he told the paper. To make things worse, he is not even certain which trash heap is hiding his treasure.

Stay away from Bitcoin. It’s a deck of cards which will soon come crashing down. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
