levi-wolowikIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of Levi Wolowik, 9-year-old son of Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik of Woodmere, NY, who  was niftar on Shabbos.  Levi was a talmid of Yeshiva Darchei Torah.  His parents, Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik, head the Chabad center in the the Five Towns. Levi is a grandson of the well-known Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Brooklyn, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of Chabad.

Levi, according to sources, passed away from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome).

The Wolowiks were scheduled to host their annual dinner celebration titled “Unity in the Community,” honoring donors and supporters, tonight. The event, set to take place at the Grand Ballroom of the Sephardic Temple in Cedarhurst, will not be cancelled, according to the Wolowiks’ website.

The levaya will take place today at 1 p.m. at Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Boro Park. Kevurah will take place at the Montefiore cemetery in Cambria Heights. Shivah will take place until Friday morning at the Wolowik home, 748 Central Avenue in Woodmere.
