During the Olympics this year, fans in Tokyo will have the new idea that they will be able to visit the Japan National Stadium, or the New National Stadium as it is known amongst locals as it has been specifically built for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The construction of the stadium started back in 2016 and then was finally completed at the end of 2019, costing approximately $1.4 billion – an astonishing number for a purposely built stadium.

Whilst we have waited a very long time for the Olympics to start, we can wait a little bit longer by entertaining ourselves in multiple different ways, including through online casinos with still many available here. This UK Online Casinos List showcases some of the best casino games on the market, including games such as roulette, poker, blackjack and many other table games.

The Olympics mascots are always an important factor when it comes to the Olympic Games, and this is especially important in Japan due to their illustrious history with the anime which is highly relevant in their mascots this year. The mascots for the Olympics this year are called Miraitowa whilst the Paralympic mascot is known as Someity. Miraitowa is a combination of Japanese words that come together to mean future and eternity whereas Someity comes from the popular cherry blossom and is a variation of “Someiyoshino” and when translated to English it means “so mighty.”

The Tokyo Games is also highly anticipated as is will be the Olympics to have the most gold medals in, featuring 339 gold medals, with more than 11,000 athletes competing for them, with over 206 different nations looking for Olympic success this summer. The event is due to start on Friday 23rd July and run for just over two weeks and will have five more sports that what Rio 2016 which are there to bring in a younger audience which include surfing, skateboarding, sport climbing and karate, all of which many of us are looking forward to watching.
