One of the survivors of the terror attack in Yerushalayim today called his escape from the scene of the shooting unscathed “a neis” – a “miracle” – after one of the bullets ripped through his shirt but did not inflict major injuries, Yediot Achronot reports.

Among the wounded were two brothers: Elazar Prover, 19, and Dubbi Prover, 16. The teens’ father, R’ Yechezkel, said the bus which was targeted by the gunman was full when the two were waiting at the bus stop. “There was a great miracle. They waited at the bus stop, but the bus passed them by.” The two then began boarding another bus when they heard shots coming from the vehicle that passed them just seconds earlier. “My son Elazar, had first-aid training and ran to care for a man, who was severely wounded.”

R’ Yechezkel said that both of his children were shot during the attack. “The bullets went through their shirts. Went in the one end of their shoulders and exited at the other, and nothing serious happened to them.”

Dubbi was released from the hospital on Sunday, and Elazar, who also suffered minor injuries to his shoulder, was hospitalized for further treatment at Hadassah Medical Center. Yair, Elazar and Dubbi’s brother, said, “The orthopedists at the hospital said that Elazar was very lucky. Had the bullet hit a little deeper, he would not have been alive. It’s a neis (miracle).”

  1. When informed of the miracle that occurred to the 2 brothers, President Biden told reporters, “In that case, the terrorist should reimburse the 2 brothers for their shirts, and then be released from prison.
Biden added: “No need for a disproportionate prison sentence, which would only escalate the violence.”
When told of the severe injuries that some of the other passengers sustained in the attack, Biden said, “Bottom line, the guy was aiming for their shirts, and misjudged his shots. He certainly wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. Let him pay for the shirts, and let him go home to his family!”
When asked by reporters whether the Iranian operative who was recently charged for plotting assassination attacks against John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, could soon be released to Iran as part of a prisoner swap, “Biden said, “Why not? I love all kinds of swaps, I used to swap baseball cards when I was a kid.”
Biden added: “We could even swap Bolton and Pompeo for some of our prisoners. That would be a win-win for both me AND the Mullahs.”
