If you have a cell phone, it probably buzzed and beeped loudly Wednesday afternoon around 2:18 p.m. ET.

“Presidential Alert,” the screen said. “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

It’s the first nationwide test of the system built by the federal government and cell phone carriers to warn Americans of an emergency, like a terror attack or a widespread disaster.

  2. Big government has now officially taken over and stripped us of all our freedoms and privacy! How did they legally get my cellphone number? Who gave it to them? The corrupt Mike Rogers at the corrupt NSA? The corrupt cellphone carriers? Who gave them a right to text me, a private taxpaying citizen? America is NO LONGER the “land of the free”.

    • Actually, it was initiated when the illegal Kenyan was president. Where were your complaints then? Were you afraid of being called a racist for criticizing the traitor?
