Yehuda Glick, an activist who promotes the right of Jews as well as other non-Muslims to pray on the Har Habayis in Yerushalayim, ascended the Har Habayis yesterday for the first time since September, 2014.

Glick promotes going on to the Har Habayis, despite the fact that the leading poskim and gedolim of this generation and the previous one have said that doing so is absolutely forbidden and that it is a violation of an issur kareis.

“It was very moving and exciting to return home,” Glick told Tazpit Press Service (TPS). “The Temple Mount is the origin of my life, the center and core of my whole existence, the origin of peace and light in the world, and I’m so happy to be back.”

Right-wing activist Yehuda Glick entered the Temple Mount complex in Jerusalem Tuesday morning after some 18 months during which he was forbidden from entry.

Glick was acquitted last week in Yerushalayim’s Magistrate’s court on charges of assaulting a Palestinian woman on the Hara Habayis. The acquittal resulted in the lifting of a ban on Glick from going on the Har Habayis.

Police had claimed in court that allowing Glick to return to the Har habayis would be a danger to the public, but the judged ruled otherwise.

“Thank G-d, when I was laying unconscious a day after the attack, my wife said that we would return to the Temple Mount and that’s what we’re doing today,” Glick told Haaretz. “As soon as we entered, someone from the Waqf recognized me and reported it in his walkie-talkie but it was early and there weren’t many people. Some gathered around us, but the police protected us and the visit passed peacefully.”

  1. Except the fact that his gedolim are not your “gedolim”. Everything is relative! Just like the pope has no authority over protestants

  2. Arab want to kill Jews (R”L) no matter where they are and no matter where we go. Whether you are on Har HaBayis or somewhere in Bnei Brak they want you dead and out of this country. Let’s not insult the 1000s of families who lost children to terror in all parts of the country based on the actions of these people.

  3. “despite the fact that the leading poskim and gedolim of this generation and the previous one have said that doing so is absolutely forbidden and that it is a violation of an issur kareis”

That is a matter of opinion, not halacha. The Raaved holds there is no kedusha even now a days. And much of what we call “Har Habayis” is outside of the parameters of where the Temple really once stood. There is an additional 100 meters at least on the mount. If you go according to the measurements of the Radbaz (who I guess was much smaller than our gedolim???) then you know exactly where one can and can’t go…Shame on those that say this is issur kareis….
