The 91st Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade got under way Thursday morning with the NYPD providing increased security along the roughly two-mile-long route, which begins at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West.

Chief of Patrol Terrence Monahan told reporters that “The entire route is secured. No crosstown traffic. No cars can get onto the route. We look at everything that happens around the world and we adjust and make everything different as we go along.” Read more at NY POST.
