Agudas Yisroel of America’s National Convention, which had been slated to be held November 22-25, has been rescheduled.
“Last week’s hurricane left a long trail of destruction, devastation and disruption in its wake,” the Agudah said. “The hearts and tefillos of all of Klal Yisroel are with our suffering brethren.”
The Agudah said that “under the direction of our gedolei Yisroel” it has decided to postpone its convention, including a special commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Agudas Yisroel, to December 27-30.
“The scars and wounds left by the storm are still too raw,” explained the Agudah, and “the need for singular focus still to urgent for us to proceed as originally planned.”
The Agudah is also organizing a kinnus chizuk v’hisorerus to be held at The Palace Hall in Brooklyn on Tuesday, November 13.

good call kiddush hashem
good move
Wow, pushing off the convention. Now that is getting serious! Time for a major Teshuva campaign.
i feel that this year, an ‘unconventional’ convention should be held.
a video or c.d. should be made of all of the speakers who were to be at the weekend; anyone who was planning on attending should ‘pay’ for the video/c.d. and all of the funds should go towards helping acheinu bnei yisroel, to help them rebuild their lives.
imagine the amount of funds that would be generated by people who Baruch Hashem were able to spend it anyway on a Shabbos.
i am certain that they would be inspired by their own magnanimous gesture, as well as the words of the gedolim they would hear on the c.d. they would receive.
let us all consider this ‘unconventional’ suggestion this year; and may our merits bring about the geulah b’karov.
there is a dirshu convention this motzoie shabbos featuring all the gedolim
to # 4 awesome idea: hope the people in charge listen to you
To #4: That would defeat the whole purpose of the convention, which is to convene to discuss the problems currently facing klal Yisroel, brainstorming, and coming up with solutions to these problems. Its purpose is more than to just informing.
many people who do go to the convention are helping in tremendous ways, just because they choose to go doesnt mean they dont help too.
