Agudath Israel: We Have Not Endorsed Anyone in New York City Mayoral Race

A statement provided by Agudath Israel of America to Matzav.com:

There are media reports circulating claiming that Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president, and – by extension – Agudath Israel itself, has endorsed the Adams campaign for the New York City mayoralty.

In fact, Rabbi Zwiebel was invited to a “meet-the-candidate” event in a private home. He was asked to introduce the candidate, with whom Rabbi Zwiebel has a long and warm relationship, but made no endorsement. Purported quotes indicating an endorsement are not accurate.

Agudath Israel never endorses candidates, though the Agudah does seek to meet with them, and to share the concerns of our constituency, on a regular basis.

We appreciate the opportunity to correct the record.

  1. And so they should not endorse anyone. Why suck up to a candidate now during a primary? All the candidates stink! They’d be horrible for New York City. It’s a lineup of Dumb And Dumber to replace DeDumbest. Who’s going to be worse.

  2. They can’t endorse anyone because nobody knows who’s really running as many politicians have been shipped off to GITMO including those you think are still around.

  3. Anyone voting for Democrats is voting for continued destruction of New York. Any minimal money that they think that they will gain will be wiped out by the lack of police protection and favoritism for enemies of the Jews
