Amazon.com Inc. is announced on Tuesday its decision to split its second headquarters between two cities, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
The company reportedly made the surprise decision to pick two sites — New York City’s Long Island City and Northern Virginia’s Crystal City south of Washington, D.C.— for the new headquarters instead of just one.
The decision follows a yearlong contest among 20 finalist cities to host the new headquarters dubbed “HQ2.”
