In the backdrop of the ongoing controversy surrounding the Israeli draft law, thousands of members from the Peleg Yerushalmi gathered in a show of solidarity and support for a yeshiva student, Baruch Yitzchakov, who is currently imprisoned.
Yitzchakov, a talmid at the Yeshivas Meoros HaTorah, was arrested last week by police for refusing to enlist in the army and cooperate with military authorities.
The gathering took place outside the walls of Prison 10, organized by the Committee for the Salvation of Torah Study and led by key figures from the faction, including Rav Ezriel Auerbach and Rav Yonah Zelushinsky.
During the event, various rabbonim spoke, declaring that the chareidi community would stand firm against attempts to intimidate and pressure Israeli youth into military service.
