Dr, Anthony Fauci tried to crack a joke mocking his critics, as the White House chief medical adviser said he was the one who developed the ancestral strain of the Chinese coronavirus, Breitbart reports.
Fauci made the remarks during an appearance at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle this week to receive the Hutch Award, which is typically reserved for “an active MLB player who ‘best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire’” of former MLB pitcher Fred Hutchinson, who died of lung cancer, according to MLB.
“That’s right, you let it loose,” Corey responded.

Republican National Committee (RNC) Research shared the clip, expressing disgust.

FBI officials quickly seized upon Mr. Fauci’s remarks to request a warrant from the Justice Department to conduct a raid on the infectious diseases expert’s home. And federal magistrate judge, Tim Raider, told reporters on Friday that he will definitely sign off on the search warrant if asked to do so.
“If Fauci developed the ancestral model strain of the virus, like he said he did, we’re gonna raid his home and find it!” Mr. Raider said. “We’ll either find the ancestral strain, or we’ll find the relevant documents, but we’ll find the evidence one way or another.”
Upon hearing Mr. Raider’s comments, Mr. Fauci told reporters, “If they want to raid my home, that’s fine with me, as long as they’re wearing their facemasks.”
