New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, when asked about reports that President Donald Trump was planning to pardon Sheldon Silver, revealed his true colors.
“It’s almost as if he’s trying to purposely create anarchy and desecrate the entire system on the way out the door…,” said Cuomo in a radio interview. “It could just be a favor for some contact, a favor for someone in the Jewish community, a favor for a donor…”

Trump spent his whole life and began his real estate empire in New York. Of course, he knew the Speaker of the NY Assembly, Sheldon Silver. But why not blame someone the “Jewish Community” for arranging the pardon.
Cuomo is an anti-Semite and Trump isn’t pardoning Silver for anyone in the Jewish community but he probably does have some deal with someone because otherwise the pardon makes no sense.
As a former NY real estate developer Trump has to have dealt with Silver and have many mutual acquaintances. That is why he is pardoning him.

I’m sorry, but the comment is not necessarily anti-Semitic. It’s probably true that it would be a favor for someone or all of the Jewish community. Why is noting that anti-Semitic? And the first part of his comment just tells us he hates trump.

Cuomo showed his “true colors” when he selectively targeted the Jewish community for disproportionate lockdowns last year. But I fail to see anything wrong with what Cuomo said when speculating about why Trump might pardon Shelly Silver. And everyone I have spoken to about this agrees that Cuomo is probably spot-on. It would be instructive if someone could educate me on what’s so objectionable here. Thank you.

For those who don’t understand the anti-Semitism behind it. Just imagine Cuomo talking about how crazy and bizarre etc. something Trump is doing and then saying “he must be doing it as a favor for someone in the BLACK community”
Some of these comments here leave me to wonder who is paying them to write this stuff. Let’s start with simple facts – I cannot find anywhere in any web search that Trump pardoned this Silver. Anyone care to show me where this alleged pardon is reported? So that means that this question to Cuomo was about a rumour about a possible pardon for Silver – and the way it was asked makes it a meaningless question – and any rational person would have answered exactly that the question itself is meaningless. The one and only reason to take the question seriously and answer it the way in which it was answered is simple anti-Semitism. For reasons not clear, Cuomo wants to beat down the Jewish community and – among many other canards he has spread in the past – still continues in the same path.
And as others have rightly pointed out here, what does the sentence “On what theory would Trump even know Sheldon Silver” mean. Trump is a life-long New Yorker and Sheldon Silver is a life-long New York politician (and we are talking about people born more than 70 years ago). And this Democrat politician would hardly be a stranger to a family who had traditionally been Democrats (with only a recent change by Donald Trump). And further, the NYT was already pouncing on Trump alleging that Silver was somehow professionally connected to Kushner! And that Silver’s prosecutor was a prominent Trump hater named Preet Bharara. So while the NYT was out to frame Trump using this rumour, this Cuomo set to frame the Jews. How is that NOT anti-Semitic?
