Dr. Lara Kollab, a former medical resident who was dismissed after her anti-Semitic tweets made several years ago were uncovered, including one where she claimed she would “purposely give all the yahood [Jews] the wrong meds,” released a statement apologizing for her remarks.

Kollab said she made the statements between 2011 to 2017, when she was in her teens and twenties. She now says she wants to “sincerely and unequivocally” apologize for what she called “offensive and hurtful language.”

She stressed that she understood the timeline of her posts did not excuse her from “causing pain, anguish, and a public outcry,” and said her past remarks are not reflective of her character today.

“These posts were made years before I was accepted into medical school, when I was a naïve, and impressionable girl barely out of high school,” Kollab said. “I matured into a young adult during the years I attended college and medical school, and adopted strong values of inclusion, tolerance, and humanity.”

“Like many young people lacking life experience, I expressed myself by making insensitive remarks and statements of passion devoid of thought, not realizing the harm and offense these words would cause.”

“I have learned from this experience and am sorry for the pain I have caused,” Kollab added. “I pray that the Jewish community will understand and forgive me.”

  1. Glad to see it wasn’t one of the many fake type of apologies we see today where the person doesn’t accept responsibility, doesn’t admit wrongdoing, is sorry only that caught, is sorry made other side sorry but sidesteps true apology

  2. Translated:

I now understand that I have to keep my thoughts to myself since I want to keep my job. I am sorry people found out about my true feelings, but I promise to be more careful about getting caught in the future.

  3. A dollar short and a day late!
Actions speak. Show some positive action first & then maybe people can start thinking about forgiveness . Meanwhile I hope no one (even non Jewish) ever ends up a paitient of yours.

  4. baloney!! not only is she not fit to be a doctor, she is too stupid to be one. bad enough she is so vile, but to put it out for all to see!? i cannot imagine that anyone will trust her for medical care. she has been taught all her life to hate ‘infidels’ now that she lost her job, she suddenly did teshuvah?

  5. Apology NOT accepted. She thinks that by hiring a PR firm and releasing a heartless statement, all will be forgiven?! That in it of itself is an additional insult.

  6. Do not believe a word! She is only saying this to “save” her career and appear sensitive as other MDs are!!! “Money” talks!!!

  7. Other point to ponder: She probably would have NEVER been accepted to medical school , had they known at the time the detail of her beliefs!!!!!!
