The application process has now opened for the long-awaited affordable housing at the Culver Housing Development on 37th Street between 12th and 14th Avenues, state Sen. Simcha Felder announced on Tuesday.

In 2005, Senator Felder, then a Councilman under the Bloomberg administration, came up with the plan to create affordable housing by rezoning and developing this six block stretch of land under the former elevated train. From start to finish, the project remained a high priority to the Senator, who together with Mayor Bill de Blasio and SBCO consistently nurtured it through its development with support, time and energy.

“Persistence is the answer to almost any problem and I am gratified that now hard working families with dreams of owning a home in the neighborhood they love, close to family and friends, will see those dreams come true,” said Senator Felder.

Applications can be submitted online at www.nyc.gov/housingconnect. To request a paper application send a self-addressed stamped envelope to SBCO c/o Culver Housing Developments, LLC, 4006 18th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11218. Applications must be postmarked no later than September 25th, 2018.

“I encourage everyone who is interested to submit their applications for the lottery immediately. So many people share the dream of home ownership and I am proud to help strengthen and expand the opportunity,” said Senator Felder.

  1. Hoax. Scam.
Only the well connected get such apartments.
It’s all predestined. Every one of those apartments already has a name attached to it. Do they really think we’re all that dumb?
