Adam Bashir has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his part in the lynching attempt on Mor Ganashvili in Akko on May 12, 2021.

The Haifa District Court convicted Bashir of terror assault with the intent to cause harm after he hurled a rock at Ganashvili’s car and subsequently shattered a window with a club in an effort to gravely injure or maim Ganashvili for a nationalistic and ideological motive. Ganashvili then exited the vehicle and was beaten by the Arab mob.

The court also hand down an additional one-year suspended sentence and ordered Bashir to pay NIS 150,000 (around $43,700) in damages to Ganashvili, who was driving a car with Israeli flags.

Bashir, a resident of the coastal city, confessed to the crime and was found guilty after entering into a plea agreement on charges of aggravated assault as an act of terror, attempted aggravated assault and rioting.

“The accused held a club and intended to cause serious injury” because of an “ideological nationalist motive,” the judge said.

  1. Do we really need to show that picture of the victim. Imagine if it were you or your loved one that was injured. Mor Ganashvili is a human being, a Tzelem E-lokim with feelings, emotions he has a family and loved ones. Lets not make him into not an object or a simply of news artifact.

  2. I prefer to see more blood and gore in the pictures for news stories like this and not just the minimal amount published. Would you be able to accommodate this?
