This crash investigation is going to be missing one essential piece of evidence. The pilots on Asiana Airlines Flight 214, which crash-landed at San Francisco International Airport on Shabbos were not tested for drugs or alcohol following the accident, because federal regulations do not extend to foreign pilots.
Not only had the plane’s automated landing system malfunctioned, but the pilots didn’t discuss the problem, according to investigators.
