At the trial today of Rabbi Osher Eisemann, founder of the School for Children with Hidden Intelligence (SCHI), Middlesex County Judge Benjamin Bucca sent the jurors home at about 3 p.m.
Closing statements took all day yesterday, with the defense presenting for three hours.
Today, the jury – fourteen jurors, five men and nine women – at the courthouse in East Brunswick, NJ, began deliberating.
With the jury having been sent home, they will return at 9 a.m. Monday morning to continue deliberations.
The judge joked that the jurors should “take it easy,” staying safe and “not skiing” over the weekend.
The trial followed an indictment on trumped-up charges, and Rabbi Eisemann is facing up to 10-20 in prison if convicted.
All are asked to daven for Osher ben Chana Frumet.
