Jordan’s King Abdullah sidesteps multiple questions from journalists in the Oval Office regarding US President Donald Trump’s proposal to assume control over Gaza and transfer its Palestinian population to neighboring nations.
At one point, Trump asserts that a “parcel of land” will likely be designated in Jordan and Egypt to accommodate Palestinians who are displaced.
When asked directly whether he supports this initiative, Abdullah, appearing visibly uneasy, replies, “I have to look at the best interests of my country.”
He points out that Trump is already pleased with Jordan’s commitment to take in 2,000 ailing Gazans—a number that represents just 0.1% of the overall Palestinian population that Trump aims to relocate.
The king further explains that successfully executing Jordan’s effort will require coordination with COGAT, the Israeli military unit in charge of overseeing humanitarian aid access into Gaza.
“The best way to get [2,000 children out of Gaza] is by helicopters to get them straight to our institutions,” he says. “Quite a few countries will also probably like to take some of those kids and have them treated in their hospitals.”
When pressed again on his stance regarding the US’s vision for Gaza’s future, Abdullah responds that Arab leaders are planning to present their own proposal to the US soon.
Trump, in turn, insists he already has a strong sense of what that proposal will entail. “It’s going to be… magnificent for the Palestinians. They’re going to be in love with it. I did very well with real estate. I can tell you about real estate.”
“The president is looking forward to getting a group of us Arabs here to discuss the overall plan,” Abdullah states.
He elaborates that Egypt is spearheading an initiative for Gaza on behalf of Arab nations and that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has invited Arab leaders to Riyadh for discussions.
As the meeting begins, Abdullah appears to make a diplomatic overture to Trump.
“With all the challenges that we have in the Middle East, I finally see somebody [who] can take us across the finish line to bring stability, peace and prosperity to all of us in the region,” he says.

Didn’t know that King Abdullah suffers from severe eye twitching
Also found that interesting. Also, when he showed up to meet Trump at the door, his eyes weren’t twitching at all, just in this meeting.
And break up the families?! How will the world stand for this?
Those 2000 diseased children will probably die of lack of proper care. Smart move for the king.
The Hashemite family comes from the Hashim clan in present-day Saudi Arabia. They feel no kinship with the clans in present-day Jordan or Eretz Yisrael.
Furthermore, the king’s great-grandfather was assassinated by a Philistinian, while his grandfather was also shot and only saved by the bullet pinging off a medal on his chest.
For decades, Jordan keeps their Philistinians in extremely rundown and primitive refugee camps, especially after they rebelled in the early 70s, and the king’s grandfather had thousands of them massacred, which inspired the Black September terrorist group.
So agreeing to take in 2000 diseased Philistinian children makes him look good without him having to actually do anything to help the Philistinians.
Though I’m enjoying watching Trump casually trying to strong-arm him and other Arab leaders into accepting these unwanted Philistinians.
His eye twitching is a minor problem compared to his loathing of the Palestinians. He is willing to take in 2000 sick kids and he probably hopes that that humanitarian gesture will exempt him from doing more for the Palestinians whom he professes to care about deeply, but he absolutely does not want them in his country, unless of course, they are minors suffering from potentially terminal diseases.
