[Audio below.] Earlier this week, Matzav disseminated the now well-known “Maseches Obama Basra,” released in honor of Purim 5776.
Now, we are treated to a “shiur” on that very daf of Maseches Obama Basra, Perek HaDonald, by the brilliant Rav Eytan Feiner, the dynamic rov of the White Shul, Cong. Knesseth Israel in Far Rockaway.

I know its in jest and in honor of Purim, but a part of me feels it is an insult to Talmid Bavli
I pashut had a lot of hanaah! Shkoiach!
Amazing!
Amazingly brilliant. The mix of genuine Torah knowledge and this very funny Purim Torah is fantastic. A freilichin Purim.
Eli – well then get rid of that part of you! I guess there always has to be at least one critic out there.
As a Rebbe I agree with Eli whole heartedly. Nothing further need be said. If you felt to the Gemorah like a close friend, like a father like a mother then a certain modicum of Kovod should be in place. Saying “its only Purim get a life”, would maybe show a lack of what Torah really means to Klal Yisroel.
A Freilichen Purim to all
My son Daniel has ably translated and set to “ArtScroll” layout the Mishna/Gemara/Rashi/Tosofos of this brilliantly done amud. PLEASE NOTE HE IS NOT THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR ! However, thank you to Rabbi Feiner who took his time to join in the fun and took my son’s contribution to the original author’s work and made a shiur out of it. This is a great Purim shtick and timely to the season we are in as well here in the US.
Kol hakavod to the original author. I have to run now to my daf yomi to experience the real thing!
Wishing everyone a Freilichen Purim!
I actually know the person who wrote this and he is a talmud chuchum not from Atlanta and not a 12th grader.
Rabbi Feiner does a great job
The Shu”t Dvar Shmuel (193) criticizes harshly
the printers of Meseches Purim. He claims
it is Chilul Hatorah to imitate the Gemoro and
turn it into a song and comedy.
