Wedding reception venues will be able to open at 50% capacity, and up to 150 people starting March 15, Governor Cuomo announced today, WHEC reports.

The expansion can happen only if everyone received COVID-19 testing beforehand and a county’s health department approves it. Health departments would monitor testing.

Cuomo warned, however, that the date for starting this program could be changed, depending on “the facts.”

  1. So will we be able to enter the chassuna hall thru the front door like a mensch? Will we be able to start the chupa at a normal time? Can we take the black garbage bags off all the windows yet?

  2. my best guess is that Gov. Cuomo realized he can not collect penalties from closed businesses.
Therefore, this allowance is aimed at getting businesses open with the given restrictions.
I am certain that non compliance can be penalized. So business owners, be aware.

  3. Why can’t they resume right away? If restaurants and wedding halls are ready to open tomorrow, why must they wait till Feb 14 and March 15?
