BAD DEAL: Caroline Glick: ‘There Could Have Been A Deal With No Terrorists Released’

Caroline Glick, well-known commentator and author, took to Twitter on Motzoei Shabbos to express her views on the terms of the recent hostage deal, suggesting that the United States could have secured significantly better conditions for Israel.

She pointed to the staggering numbers involved: “Going through the list of terrorists Israel is supposed to release. 734 terrorist murderers. 2000 terrorists in all – in exchange for 33 innocent hostages, dead and alive,” she wrote. Glick’s frustration was palpable as she recounted the devastation caused by these individuals. “I remember every single attack these animals carried out. They murdered hundreds of innocent Israelis, Americans, children, mothers, fathers, young people just because they were Jews.”

Glick didn’t hold back in criticizing the United States, accusing it of failing to exert its influence effectively. “It needs to be said, if the U.S. wanted a deal, it could have had one that didn’t require these murderers to go free,” she argued, emphasizing that alternative strategies could have been pursued.

She elaborated on her point by highlighting the potential leverage Washington had but did not use. “All Washington needed to do was threaten Qatar, Egypt and Turkey — Hamas’s state sponsors — with actual sanctions for their harboring of terrorists. But no pressure whatsoever was brought to bear on Hamas or its state sponsors, only on Israel,” she concluded, pointing to what she viewed as a missed opportunity to achieve a more favorable outcome.

  1. And for this we voted for Trump?
He is the same as Biden
We should have all written in a random 3rd party candidate as a protest vote.

  2. According to a famous psak from Rav Chaim Kanievsky, they should be shot even after they are incapacitated. As I understand it, this means they have the status of rodeif even when not actively trying to murder Jews. (Probably because they are planning the next murder ר”ל.)

  3. She’s not wrong.

While I’m loath to point it out, the Shalit deal was in many ways the reason October 7th happened.

The only softening blow is that the ratio is a lot better than during the Shalit deal.

  4. She’s wrong. Time will tell if the hostage deal is worth it. It probably isn’t. But assuming the other Arab countries hold hamas like puppets is incorrect. The sad reality was that this was the only way to free them.

  5. As my sil in Israel said when I asked her about the mood in EY “The whole country is watching in wide-eyed horror. How can you stop the deal, how can you allow this deal?” A deal with the devil indeed…having said that we must accept that this is Hashem’s Will…
