At least 10 fires reportedly broke out in southern Israel Friday, caused by the burning balloons launched from Gaza. Meanwhile, several incendiary balloons were found Saturday morning in the near Ein Karem by a passerby who handed the suspicious items to police on patrol in the area.
Security services thereafter secured the area and issued a directive to residents to avoid handling such objects that may contain explosive material and endanger the lives of civilians.
“Citizens who find suspicious objects must immediately report them by calling the police emergency line.” The handling of balloons is the sole responsibility of the police,” the police stated.
