Hatzalah should only be called when there is concern for a true medical emergency.

Baltimore County is extremely busy at this point in time and running low on ambulances. At some points in time a fire engine is transporting people to the hospital. If you can call a virtual doctor or go to a priority care or similar please by all means do so. Just because you are transported by ambulance doesn’t mean you will be seen any faster. Most of the time you will be put in a wheelchair right off the ambulance and taken to the Emergency room where you will wait up to 14hrs to be seen. If you really need to go to the hospital and can find someone to drive you please do so as the Ambulances can be utilized for more life threatening calls.

Regional medical resources are extremely taxed. Waiting times in emergency rooms and urgent care centers are hours long. Hatzalah has also experienced an increase in call volumes. Hatzalah should only be called when there is concern for a true medical emergency. It is now common practice for ambulances transporting non life threatening conditions to be directed to place the patient in the waiting room. Calling Hatzalah for non-emergency situations will not result in being seen faster and ties up our community resources making them unavailable to those with a true emergency.

  1. They’re probably busy dealing with all the violence that takes place there. The leftists are in charge for way too long and killed the metropolitan area.

  2. Why is there an uptick in calls all of sudden? As far as I know, this is the first time that I can remember Baltimore Hatzalah making such an announcement.
