Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi of Monsey, who has 200,000 followers on social media, has been banned from entering Britain, ahead of a speaking tour in London.

Rabbi Mizrachi has been criticized by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and others for his views, including his claim that fewer than one million halachic Jews were killed in the Holocaust, Down’s Syndrome and autism are punishments for previous sins, and blind children are serving penance for aveiros in a past life.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “When the purpose of someone’s visit to this country is to spread hatred, we can and will stop them entering Britain. This Government upholds free speech but we will not let it be used to excuse detestable views that directly contravene our values. We take the threat from extremism seriously and we will challenge it wherever we see it.”

  1. The Rav apologized for simple people taking his words out of context. This is old news being rehashed. Matzav even posted Rabbi Mizrachi’s meeting with the famous Holocaust survivor, Mr. Katz of the 5 towns. This was an unnecessary hit piece by the Times of Israel. We all know about gilguls and how they work. This concept may be disturbing to the simple pleasure seeking folks, but limaaseh it’s a reality. It is brought down in many seforim. Rabbi Mizrachi was mikarev many fellow Yidden. Just like any mashpia, if it’s not your speed, you’re not michuyav to listen to him. But don’t bash and put down, because that will only backfire.

  2. The Brittrash kind of sound like the Spanish Inquisition and the Jesuits in Bohemia and Poland. Collusion? If Rav Yosef were a major realtor or investor, he’d be warmly welcomed. If Rav Yosef defines “halachic Jew” as one with no p’gumiim in their observance or in the gay’russ of an ancestress, then I am shocked to the core that one million were systematically executed (vs starvation and disease). This is shuddering. Many of us know of q’doshim that suffered this fate, but it is doubtful that “our statisticians” know (or care) what is a “halachic jew” and also fathom the dynamics of o’nesh

  3. This is a terrible sniper shot against someones character! I don’t necessarily agree with or appreciate his style but, be that as it may, how is saying that people are suffering because they sinned hate speech? A cornerstone of our Jewish belief system is that suffering comes in order to atone for sin. This doesn’t mean that we hate people who suffer. Precisely the opposite; we support and comfort them! In attempting to prevent further acts agains G-d’s Will, we might warn of the possible repercussions by pointing out examples of suffering in the world in order to highlight the terrible impact our sins have. This doesn’t mean we hate those suffering. Shameful.

    • He is a radical extreme man which isn’t appreciated by many including the British government. So yeah. Enjoy him. If I can I would be much more hatred on toward you. But decided not to. Read between the lines Israeli Yid

    • I don’t know much about this fellow, but I do know that the Gemara says that telling someone that the reason they are suffering is because they sinned is an issur D’Orayso. Poskim sy that although sinning causes suffering, not all suffering is necessarily due to this person’s sins. Sometime’s Hashem just wants to test someone, or has other reasons known only to himself. Saying to people you must have sinned is both false, irresponsible, and a huge aveira.
Again, I don’t know if that is what this fellow actually said. Many times people are taken out of context.

  4. This ban, coming from a country that allow’s extremism, hate and antisemitism to flourish all across itself, can result in a good thing too.
No longer will they be able to deny thier hypocrisy, when giving other extremists and haters, a free pass.
Finally, it will prove that the leadership and policymakers of the country, are as evil as the extremists they don’t silence, especially when confronted about the country”s involvement in evils of the past.

  5. All Jews are mandated to follow the dictates of chazel. We are told Aseh lecah Rav. All mashpiam must have a Rebbi and a mesorah. Even talmidai chochumim need a morah horah. Intelligence, charisma, speaking capabilities etc…. are not an acceptable excuse for negating the words of chazel.

  6. I hope the ones who are opposing him, seemingly with misplaced
indignation were successful in making even 10 per cent or perhaps
even 1 percent, of the sincere Baalei Teshuvah that Rabbi Mizrachi
has made and continues to make

  7. Sadly I disagree with most of you. We know theres a concept if gilgulim but we have ZERO idea of any specifics. In addition the Torah says we dont get punished for our parents sins or any other beings sins. While he has been mijares many people, he has zero hadracha and hashkkafa from anyone specific. Hes shtark, motivational but he became a baal teshuvah and ran with his emotions. Unlike Reb Uri Zoharvwho was machniyah himself to Gedolim.

    • Wow. And who are YOU? What is YOUR address and phone number? You’re so brave to be motzie laz on someone you absolutely nothing about.

  8. This is total nonsense. Rabbi Mizrachi is not a hateful person. It is coming from a very liberal country and he never gives a shiur to hate. HE has his resons why things happen but that does not mean he hates the people. Total fabrication by the liberal left. Rabbi Mizrachi has a take no prisoners style and thast might offend some people but this is totally wrong an we should stand up for Rabbi Mizrachi. CHAZAK!

  9. the rest of the story was that he was booked on Boeing Max flight to Eithiopia to be followed by UK but when UK banned him, he cancelled his entire plane ticket and trip.

  10. Britain’s Jeremy Corbin Yimach Shmo says such antisemitic things yet he is welcome there as are all the moose-leems who freely walk the streets and are free to enter and leave as the please. Michael Savage and Yosef Mizrahee-haw are hate mongers! incomprehensible yet hor him to be banned from a country that wants to ban Milah and Sh’chita, hey, that’s even a compliment: that be doesn’t even deserve. The Jew-loving royal family are worried about hateful behavior of others! Haa! That’s a Purim joke!

  11. Rabbi Mizrachi is disliked because he speaks the truth. I remember how outraged people were with Rav Avigdor Miller for speaking the truth. Yes, he has said some controversial things over the years, but he has given thousands of lectures, each lasting close to 2 hours or more. 99% of what he says is the simple truth. People want it sugarcoated. You’re not going to get that from him.

  12. About dang time. We have a tendency to think that if a person speaks harshly and says terrible things, he must be speaking the truth that everyone else is afraid of. What if the truth IS sugar-coated? What if all of the “sugar-coated” chevra are based off the words of tzaddikim who were in touch with true p’nimiyus haTorah that reveals the emes l’amito of Hashem’s intention and the inner holiness of the Jew which the level of emes alone fails to perceive? Everybody talks about the baalei teshuvah he makes. To what kind of Judaism? To a depressed, angry, broken, anxious, dark, tortured, guilty, awful, hateful, ominous Judaism which is lightyears away from the authentic tradition passed down from generation to generation? Good riddance!

    • “What if the truth IS sugar-coated? What if all of the “sugar-coated” chevra are based off the words of tzaddikim who were in touch with true p’nimiyus haTorah that reveals the emes l’amito of Hashem’s intention and the inner holiness of the Jew which the level of emes alone fails to perceive?”

And what about the nevi’im and gedolim that spoke very strongly to Klal Yisroel to get them to do teshuvah? They were wrong because they didn’t sugar-coat things?

What if your sugar coated sect if wrong because it is not Emes Leamito?

      • Right. I guess the arizal and all of the talmidei Habesht weren’t familiar with the neviim like you are. And so that R’ Meir of “beIN kach ubein kach” was a “psychobabbling neo chassid”. Oh, and also Hashem, when he said “Shalom shalom l’rachok ulakarov” and “tasheiv enosh ad daka vatomer shuvu bnei Adam” and “shuvu banim shovavim” and countless other such pesukim and maamarei chazal. Chazal say that every harsh statement of the neviim were cushioned with divrei nechemta. The tzaddikim teach that both are true – the harsh rhetoric is the chitzoniyus and threw nechemta is the pnimiyus. This rabbi is kol kulos fire and brimstone. He is brash, angry, and hurtful NONE of the gedolim ever spoke the way he does. And if they did at times speak harshly it was always cushioned by the setting of their general appreciation for the inherant holiness of klal Yisrael that afilu hateilanim shebahem malri mitzvos kirimon – or is that chazal also missing from your non neo-chassidim Shas?

        • Why can’t you see the good in R. Mizrachi?

What about the Noam Elimelech’s words, אדרבה תן בלבנו שנראה כל אחד מעלת חברינו ולא חסרונם?

Would the Berdichever be so full of hate as you are toward him?

  13. מחילה רבותי! I think that the tone here is completely unacceptable. ישנו עם אחד מפוזר ומפרד- it is this divisive attitude that lends credence to the likes of Rouhani and his thugs ימח שמם. I don’t think speaking negatively about any Jews is allowed or appropriate and I definitely don’t think speaking about a Rabbi is any better. Let the Rabbis iron out what is right and what is wrong. See Yevamos 15b for the proper way to approach things like this.

  14. I personally have issues with R. Mizrachi myself, but that does not justify a hit job on him which holds him accountable for saying things that others say and get away with.

He should not be scapegoated while other are go scot-free for similar or worse.

  15. I have listened to many of rav mizrachis lectures. People may not like to hear the truth about their wrong doings and get angry at him.
As far as the UK, those home office mamzairim wouldnt try that with some of the arab mamzeirim(omar.cortez, talib) .A suicide bomber would take care of the home office. All those wanting to hear his lectures can go to his website. Perhaps he could tailor a lecture to the UK. Its amazing that the UK with all their arab problems among brexit problems have nothing to do except keep rav mizrachi out.

  16. Well i guess whats good for the goose is good for the gander. on his facebook page he posted how women wearing high heels is assur and they will pay for their sins. having just learned the sugyu in my halacha shiur i respectfully pointed out, the whole shitkel torah how hes wrong and its not assur. I got no response from him and he banned me from his facebook page
