OBAMAPresident Barack Obama condemned the Paris terror attacks, calling them an “outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians” and pledging the U.S. government’s assistance to France.

“This is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share,” Obama said in a statement delivered in the White House Briefing Room. “We stand prepared and ready to provide whatever assistance the people of France need to respond.”

Obama added, “This is a heartbreaking situation, and obviously those of us here in the United States know what it’s like and we’ve gone through these kinds of episodes ourselves.”

Obama declined to speculate on who was responsible for the attacks. Late Friday night, the White House announced Obama spoke with French President Francois Hollande, offering his condolences and reaffirming U.S. support in the investigation.

Vice President Joe Biden offered his “deepest condolences to all those wounded and to the families who lost loved ones in today’s terrorist attacks in Paris.”

“We are bound by timeless democratic values that the cowardice and perverse ideologues of extremist networks can never match, wherever they are. Such savagery can never threaten who we are. We will respond. We will overcome. We will endure,” he said in a statement.

Secretary of State John Kerry said the U.S. Embassy in Paris is “making every effort to account for the welfare of American citizens in the city, and in the days ahead we stand ready to provide whatever support the French government may require.”

  1. who”s responsible for the madness? how about bams look in the mirror for a clue….
after all he encourages these kind of actions and empowers those who have a warped (liberal) take on
    proper behavior, in all respects.
thank the l-d we are nearly done with him.

  2. Well, since no Jewish person was hurt in these attacks, it is safe for Obama to label them as an “outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians”. Had any Jews been hurt, heaven forbid. the President would have been more circumspect. He probably would call it an “unfortunate event that resulted in the lost of life”.

  3. “An outrageous attempt?” Sorry, this was way more than an “attempt.” This was a 100%, bona fide successful terror operation that was obviously very well-planned. These “kinds of episodes?” 129 people dead is a “kind of episode?” September 11 was a “kind of episode?”

Now watch everyone start talking about upgrading the strikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Too late. While Bush had many mistakes of his own, he had it right when he said that we have to fight them over there so we won’t have to fight them over here. We could have crushed ISIS right at the beginning, over there. We didn’t. We missed our chance, and now we have to fight them over here.

“We will respond. We will overcome. We will endure.” So far, we haven’t been doing a great job at any of those. Our government can’t even name the enemy, because it refuses to utter the words “Islamic terrorism.” If we can’t name the enemy, our chances of responding and overcoming are nil.

And so are the West’s chances of enduring.
