Attorney General Bill Barr said Wednesday it’s a “false narrative” to say there is an “epidemic of cops shooting unarmed black men.”

“I think the narrative that the police are on some epidemic of shooting unarmed black men is simply a false narrative,” Barr said in a CNN appearance. “The fact is that it’s very rare for an unarmed African American to be shot by a white police officer.”

Those shot by police officers are majority White, 52 percent, but 32 percent are Black, though African Americans make up 13 percent of the population, according to findings from the National Institutes of Health.

  1. He is 100% correct. Police interact with blacks much greater than the 52:32 ratio and they do it because black are disproportionally represented in crime perpetrators. The ratio of black to whites killed by police shows that police are much more cautious about looking blacks. If black man and a white do the same thing to resists arrest statistics show the white has a much greater chance of being killed.

  2. Bill Barr is the best. An uncompromising stickler to the facts, he does not bend to pressure from the PC elite. And he has come to the assistance of religion in general and frum Yidden in particular, both in his capacity as AG under the HW Bush administration, as well as in his current occupation. He was even honored at a Agudas Yisroel dinner back in the 90s.
