candle-small6This past Sunday, the Bensonhurst Torah community gathered for the levaya of 19-year-old Basya Malka Swiatycki a”h, daughter of Rav Yitzchok and Mrs. Yocheved Swiatycki, and a granddaughter of Rav Don Ungarischer, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Elyon in Monsey.

Described as a special girl who possessed maturity, capabilities and a sensitive nature well beyond her years, the passing of Basya Swiatycki at such a young age has left a deep feeling of sadness for friends, family, and fellow Yidden across the Torah world.

A large crowd gathered Sunday morning for the levaya in Bensonhurst.

Basya is survived by her parents, as well as her siblings, R’ Reuven Swiatycki, R’ Abba Swiatycki, R’ Shaya Swiatycki, R’ Gershon Swiatycki, Yerachmiel Swiatycki, Mrs. Sara Zager, Mrs. Henny Rochwarger, Mrs. Rochy Gorelik, Mrs. Tzivia Nyer and Mrs. Faigy Broyde. The family is sitting shivah until this Sunday at 2107 78th Street in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Shacharis is at 7:30 a.m., Minchah is at 2:05 p.m., and Maariv is at 8:45 p.m.

  1. I knew Bassy A”H very well. Everything that was said about her, and even more, is true. She was one of those people who never EVER said anything mean to anyone else, and she was constantly striving on improving her (already sterling) middos.
She was nifteres on Shabbos (Friday night) after a half-year battle with leukemia.

    Tihiye Nishmasa Tzerura B’tzeror Hachaim.
