Bob-Menendez-Meir-LichtensteinIf the United States and Iran do reach a nuclear deal, two U.S. senators will deserve much of the credit: Republican Mark Kirk of Illinois and Democrat Bob Menendez of New Jersey (pictured at left). They wrote the sanctions that cut Iran off from the international payments system. They led the fight to pass those sanctions into law back in 2011. And they did it over the objections of President Obama and his White House. Read more at The Daily Beast.

  1. That is great that a Republican and a Democrat could work out a plan together,hopefully to stop Iran from developing nuclear material that could be used in a nuclear bomb.

  2. To #1 Nat, I assume you’re being sarcastic? Just in case you’re not though, that’s not a pic of Kirk. It’s Meir Lichtenstein (together with Menendez).
