Mary Ben-Gurion, daughter-in-law of former Israeli prime minister David Ben Gurion, recently died at the age of 94. Her husband, Amos, died in 2008.

Amos met Mary when he was hospitalized in Liverpool during his stint in the British army during World War II. Mary Callow, an evangelical Christian from England’s Isle of Man, was finishing her nursing studies there.

Due to fierce opposition from Ben Gurion’s wife, Paula, Ben Gurion traveled to English to discuss the matter with his son and found they were already wedded.

Mary subsequently had a Reform conversion, which led to problems when the couple’s daughter, Galia, wanted to marry a Jew in 1968. At Ben Gurion’s request, Chief Military Rabbi Shlomo Goren personally conducted their wedding. Mary subsequently underwent an Orthodox conversion.

Alon, Amos’s son, married a non-Jewish Greek woman and has two daughters.

  1. Not surprising that Ben Gurion descendants are goyim. His plan was to enlist all chareidim into the army “make Israel into a melting pot and to make every Israeli lose their own identity!”

  2. WHY IS THIS OF INTEREST TO JEWS. SHE WAS A GOYA (inspite of the so called conversion) AND SO WAS HER SON, WHO MARRIED A GOYA, AS HE SHOULD.
