At an event at the Knesset today, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Minister of National Security, addressed recent criticism of the Israeli government by US President Joe Biden. Ben-Gvir expressed appreciation for the United States as a wonderful friend, stating, “We love the Americans.” However, he emphasized that the Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel, in accordance with the Torah of Israel. Ben-Gvir made it clear that there would be no compromise on Israeli territory, asserting that every hilltop and outpost is rightfully theirs.
“The things that US President [Joe] Biden said yesterday, the US is a wonderful friend to us and we love [the Americans]. But I say from here to President Biden: The Land of Israel is for the People of Israel, according to the Torah of Israel,” Ben-Gvir said. “We will not compromise on the Land of Israel, we will not compromise on any hilltop or on any outpost. It is ours,” he added.
Regarding the government’s efforts to pass judicial reform legislation, Ben-Gvir expressed support not only for the bill aimed at limiting the court’s use of the reasonableness standard, which is expected to be advanced, but also for bills that would reduce the powers of the attorney general and change the composition of the judicial selection committee. He believed that these measures would lead to effective governance, enhanced security, and triumph for the Israeli people.
During an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria yesterday, President Biden described the current Israeli government as the “most extreme” he had encountered. Biden mentioned that while the entire West Bank is not solely Israel’s responsibility, there are individuals within the cabinet who believe they can settle anywhere without justification. Biden expressed the hope for ongoing communication to address the situation and encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to pursue moderation and change.

Sefer Tehillim, chapter 102, verse 15, teaches that the servants of G*D love even the stones and dust of Eretz Yisrael. Not only the yeshivot and the synagogues of Eretz Yisrael, but even its stones and dust!
