Leaders on Israel’s right are voicing alarm over reports that President Donald Trump is preparing to declare the conflict with Hamas over, even without a full military victory against the terror group.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir took to X on Motzoei Shabbos, after Shabbos ended, writing: “Mr. Prime Minister, you have no mandate to end the war without a complete defeat of Hamas.”
Opposition head Yair Lapid pushed back, saying that he had already reassured Washington: “Netanyahu has my safety net for a hostage deal and ending the war. This has a majority in the Knesset and among the public. There’s no need to be swayed by the empty threats of Ben Gvir and [Bezalel] Smotrich.”
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also entered the discussion, stating, “I trust the Prime Minister to represent Israel’s interests in talks with President Trump. After two years of war, Israel’s clear national interest is to end it while achieving its objectives.”
Degel Hatorah chairman MK Moshe Gafni added his voice as well, remarking, “Our position is in favor of ending the war and returning the hostages.”

Ben Gvir, get close to Netanyahu and touch his vinyl face and everything Trump is doing will fall into place.
If only Ben-Gvir would take you seriously.
