According to a report by Newsweek on Friday, President Joe Biden encountered a stumble while ascending the stairs of Air Force One as he departed Helsinki, Finland. The press pool accompanying Biden observed that he bid farewell to Finnish officials before proceeding up the aircraft’s stairs without engaging in media questions.
The report mentioned that Biden appeared to experience a slight stumble around halfway up the stairs, but he continued walking without interruption. As he reached the top, he turned to wave to the staff on the tarmac and entered the plane, as stated by Newsweek.
“About half way up he appeared to stumble very slightly but kept walking on up. He turned to wave to the staff out on the tarmac and went in,” the report read, Newsweek reported.
This recent incident adds to previous concerns raised about a “watch your step” sign that was noticed on the stairs leading to Air Force One during Biden’s arrival in the United Kingdom last Sunday, as reported by Newsweek.
Given his status as the oldest president in U.S. history, Biden has faced ongoing scrutiny regarding his age and past instances of stumbling. In February and 2021, he tripped while ascending the stairs to Air Force One, and in June 2022, he fell off his bicycle while greeting a crowd in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Additionally, just last month, Biden stumbled and fell on stage after presenting the final diploma at the graduation ceremony of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.
