President Joe Biden on Wednesday said to bring on a rematch with Donald Trump. “I’m not predicting it, but I would not be disappointed,” Biden told a local Israeli TV outlet in an interview when asked about the potential for a rematch with the former president.
“The one thing I know about politics — and American politics in particular — is there’s no way to predict what’s going to happen. I’m not even halfway through my term yet, and so there’s a lot of room to figure out what’s going to happen.”
Trump has long hinted at a third consecutive White House bid and has campaigned for much of the past year but has not made an official announcement.
Biden, who turns 80 in November, says he plans to run again. But many Democrats are irked with that decision, and some are jostling for position ahead of 2024.
