President Biden strongly criticized Hamas last night for perpetrating what he described as the “worst massacres of the Jewish people since the Holocaust” while emphasizing that the actions of the terrorist organization put the lives of Palestinian civilians at risk.

During his address at the Human Rights Campaign’s annual dinner, the President condemned the loss of over 1,300 innocent lives in Israel, including at least 27 Americans. He drew attention to the harrowing situation of children and grandparents who were kidnapped and held hostage by Hamas.

“More than 1,300 innocent lives lost in Israel, including at least 27 Americans. Children and grandparents alike kidnapped, held hostage by Hamas,” the commander in chief said.

“The humanitarian crisis in Gaza: innocent Palestinian families — and the vast majority have nothing to do with Hamas — they’re being used as human shields.”

The President’s condemnation of the “sheer evil” unleashed by Hamas terrorists in their multi-front invasion of Israel on October 7th was evident. He highlighted the brutal killings of innocent civilians, including hundreds of infants, and the capture of as many as 150 hostages whom Hamas transported to the Gaza Strip, a region that Israel has relentlessly targeted in an effort to rescue the kidnapped individuals.

Biden shared that he had dedicated an hour on Friday to speaking with the families of the 16 unaccounted Americans who had either gone missing in Israel or were being held hostage in Gaza. The families are grappling with the agony of uncertainty, and the President likened their suffering to the moment he learned about the tragic car crash in 1972 that claimed the lives of his first wife, Neilia, and their daughter, Naomi, leaving his sons, Beau and Hunter, in an unknown condition.

He emphasized that the uncertainty during those hours was a deeply agonizing experience, ultimately underscoring that hate never truly disappears; it merely conceals itself under the surface.
