President Biden is expected to announce during his State of the Union a ban on Russian planes in US airspace, sources told The Associated Press. The US would join Canadian and European aviation authorities in the ban, which comes amid growing sanctions and backlash against Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.
The NY Post reports that the ban would apply to Russia-owned and operated planes and can go into effect as soon as within 24 hours.
Russian aircraft have already been banned by Canadian and European aviation authorities.

The issue is much more than banning Russian airplanes from the air above the US and above Canada and above the (anti-Russian) countries of Europe. The issue is “banning” Russian airplanes from the Ukraine itself!! Yes, top military generals and other leaders of N.A.T.O. have stated that we should declare the air above the Ukraine to be regarding Russian airplanes a “NO FLY ZONE.” But, wait a minute; Ukraine is where Russia is right now with its airplanes and other forces invading and fighting and trying to take over, so how can we go there and say to those Russian airplanes that are already right now flying there: “DO NOT FLY HERE”?????

We are supposed to go to the Ukraine and say to those — probably MANY HUNDREDS of — Russian airplanes that are already right now flying (and fighting) there: “YOU CANNOT FLY HERE!!
