Biden Tops Trump By 4 Points In New Poll

In a hypothetical general election poll conducted by Quinnipiac University, President Biden emerged with a four-point lead over former President Trump. The poll indicated that 48 percent of respondents would support Biden, while Trump received 44 percent. Notably, Biden’s support remained steady compared to the previous poll conducted in late May, while Trump experienced a two-point drop in support.

These findings come after Trump faced a second indictment on charges related to mishandling classified information and conspiring to obstruct justice. Despite these legal troubles and extensive negative media coverage, the impact on Trump’s standing with voters was minimal, as noted by Quinnipiac analyst Tim Malloy.

The poll also revealed that Biden enjoys higher favorability ratings compared to Trump. Approximately 42 percent of respondents had a favorable view of Biden, while 54 percent had an unfavorable view. On the other hand, Trump received a 37 percent favorability rating and 59 percent unfavorability rating, according to the survey.

Support for Biden was particularly strong among Black and Hispanic respondents, as well as women. Older participants also displayed a higher likelihood of backing Biden in the poll. Additionally, Biden’s favorability among registered voters increased by four points compared to the May poll.

Within the party breakdown, Biden held a significant 57-point lead over his closest Democratic competition, Robert Kennedy Jr. Among Republicans, Trump enjoyed a 22-point lead over his strongest primary opponent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
