Days before Joe Biden is set to announce his running mate, Democrats including confidants of the former vice president say the race is fluid, with different candidates gaining or losing momentum.
Three candidates — Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), former national security adviser Susan Rice and Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) — are seen as the top candidates in contention.
But Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who was seen as a front-runner in the spring but seemed to fade from the spotlight, is still very much in the race, said several sources.

Identity politics has no place in America. The fact that Mr. Biden, or his handlers in the DNC, made an iron clad rule for himself that his VP pick mist be a black female, goes against everything this Country stands for. This is even worse than affirmative action. Over there, there “might” be some merit, depending on the individual situation. But over here, ignoring such a large segment of the population, just to make sure an unqualified black female gets the position, should outrage any normal thinking voter. Are there no males in this entire Country that Mr. Biden deems fit? Wasn’t he himself, a male, selected by our first African-American President?
I don’t understand why Congresswoman Maxine Waters is not one of proposed candidates for vice-president on the Democrat ticket. It seems that she is eminently qualified for the position. She is a Black woman with a longer history of legislative experience than all of the others in consideration combined. She also was the earliest politician to call for the impeachment of President Trump. As a matter of fact, she called for Trump’s impeachment even before he was inaugurated.
Maxine Waters also seems to be mentally challenged, some might call it completely deranged. She would certainly bring balance to the Democrat ticket as a counter weight to Joe Biden, who is likewise non compos mentis.

Biden can also choose Jerold Nadler. He is a mythical black woman who frequently falls asleep during hearings and wears a Purim mask on his forehead. Yes!! He’s my choice for VP.
