A man was taken into custody for allegedly attacking two individuals in separate incidents at the Grand Central subway station on the evening before Chanukah, according to authorities.

The first attack occurred around 10:15 p.m. when the suspect became involved in an argument with a 42-year-old man at the southbound entrance to the Midtown station. During the altercation, the suspect reportedly slashed the man across his left wrist.

Not long after, the suspect approached a 26-year-old woman, allegedly engaging in a confrontation with her before stabbing her in the neck, police stated.

Both victims were immediately transported to Bellevue Hospital, where they received medical attention and were later reported to be in stable condition, police confirmed.

The suspect attempted to escape the scene by running up an escalator, but witnesses quickly notified law enforcement, who were able to arrest him and recover a knife.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect, who has a history of prior arrests for criminal mischief and assault, is currently in custody. However, formal charges have yet to be announced.

An investigation into the incident is still underway.
