Microsoft founder Bill Gates has come out on the side of the FBI in its legal battle with Apple after Chief Executive Tim Cook said his company would not comply with a government search warrant to unlock an iPhone used by one of the shooters in December’s San Bernardino terror attack.
“This is a specific case where the government is asking for access to information,” Gates said in an interview. “They are not asking for some general thing, they are asking for a particular case. It is no different than [the question of] should anybody ever have been able to tell the phone company to get information, should anybody be able to get at bank records.” Read more at BGR.
