Police are asking the public for information after a “Black Lives Matter” pavement mural in a suburb of Chicago was vandalized.

The mural was defaced overnight into Wednesday to say “All Lives Matter,” a local Fox affiliate reported.

Oak Park police said in a statement Wednesday officials expressed “sadness and disappointed” after the mural was defaced. They also said that police have gathered evidence officers “hope will help identify the vandals” and are urging members of the public to contact police with any information.

  1. How can you vandalize something that was painted on public property? Was there like a specific permit to the original artist or something?
    Can anyone explain?

    • I visited Chicago in 1956/7. It was very cold and windy.
I took the bus to my block. I had a good sandwich later on.

  2. ALL LIVES MATTER IS VANDALISM, BUT BLACK LIVES MATTER IS NOT? AND THE POLICE ARE WASTING THEIR TIME TRYING TO ARREST THOSE WHO ARE NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT? MAYBE THE CITY WILL SET UP REEDUCATION CAMPS LIKE IN CHINA?

  3. But when blacks slaughter other blacks on the streets of Chicago every weekend, that doesn’t bother or fase the evil media. Black lives only matter when a black criminal is in the process of being arrested by a white police officer.

  4. looting and murder, business as usual, but gosh, a “mural” (ugly square letters, paint thrown onto a public road to distract drivers) was defaced, (improved, IMHO) and all hands on deck…

  5. We can learn from them. Once more cops will be gunned down here in nyc and lose most of their benefits they themselves would paint blue lives matter. It’s only a little time as summer has just arrived. There will be dead blacks and dead cops all over the place as bozo Deblasio blames the crime on white supremacy and orthodox Jews breaking into playgrounds.

  6. the only thing that was ‘vandalized’ was the original pavement. correcting the spelling of the word ‘all’ (it had only one correct letter i n the original) is not vandalism; it is teaching

  7. Isn’t writing ‘black lives matter on public property’, called discrimination against those who are not?
